Living Cultures

The oral and intangible heritage of civilizations with no forms of written language were considered to be archaic and unimportant, yet they represent a legacy that includes legends and rituals, traditional music, social practices and festive events dictated by beliefs, and knowledge that are linked to communities and groups around the world. This series explores these forgotten and near extinct groups of people that are threatened by the effects of globalization, armed conflicts, industrialization and environmental degradation and tells the story of their safeguarding.
